Advocacy and Services Organizations

 EQKS chapters advocate for local non-discrimination policies and ordinances, work with youth to establish high school GSA clubs, and work with local school districts on bullying prevention and comprehensive 

sex ed policies. 

 Braided Haven, Inc. focuses on a trauma-informed, resilience-focused approach to supporting and engaging the young people at both the Drop-In Center and in our houses. 

 Positive Connections is a non-profit community organization dedicated to HIV and STI prevention and treatment.  

 This LGBTQ+ Advocacy Resource Hub houses various resources and information related to LGBTQ+ Kansans’ civil rights—including toolkits explaining what LGBTQ+ Kansans’ legal rights are and how they can go about enforcing those rights. 

 Free Mom Hugs has chapters in all 50 states and other initiatives forming globally. The group’s growing force of more than 37,000 volunteers is a national groundswell dedicated to empowering the world to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community through visibility, conversation and education. 

 Headquarters Kansas provides accessible suicide prevention education and 24/7 crisis services. We build collaborations to help Kansans connect with mental health resources and build resilient communities.
